Rock Horror Derby Show Bout Recap - October 27, 2007 - Ft. Smith, AK

Anyone sitting in the bleachers at Kay Rodgers Park Expo Center will tell you that they witnessed one heckuva close game on the night of Oct. 27, as Assassination City Roller Derby (Dallas) rolled out onto the Arkansas track to take on the River Valley Roller Girls (Ft. Smith).

Although ACRD had the advantage of a longer track record, RVRG had the advantage of 15 hard hitting, fast skating bad mamas like Brutal Butterfly, Good Golly Miss Mauly and Smack Yo Mouth, against ACRD's slim roster of 8 girls, including Young Gunz, Vanna Rockin, Red Hot Rage, Athena Monster, and budding new jammers X-zoom and Hotroddin' Gin.

In the first half, however, ACRD pulled out a 15 point lead that was never quite overcome, despite the best efforts of tremendous blockers such as Bustin Ash and Chain of Jules.
Altough RVRG's Brutal Butterfly managed, in an onslaught of power jams and smart lateral moving, to rack up an impressive 17 points in the second half, blockers Massey Graves and Trigger Mortis aided in a game of defense that left the score 67-52, in favor of the pared down roster of Assassination City Roller Derby. Top scorers for the teams were Vanna Rockin' with 20 points and Red Hot Rage and Young Gunz tying at 14 points each for ACRD, and Brutal Butterfly with 24 points and Bustin' Ash with 7 points for RVRG.
